Beyond Your Campus Competition 2021-2022

Workshop

To better prepare students for the competition, all contestants are required to attend the workshops to familiarize themselves with the work scope of surveyors from different disciplines. After the workshop, contestants are required to create and demonstrate their ideal campus and the surrounding community, and to project the area from surveyors’ point of view.

The workshops aim at delivering surveying knowledge in a more interactive and interesting way through knowledge sharing talks & guided tours at selected venues.

Workshop theme: Trunk Road T2 and Cha Kwo Ling Tunnel Workshop

Details: In this workshop, participants will be given a briefing on the Trunk Road T2 Project, the TBM and smart innovation technologies applied. Surveyors will also conduct a career sharing. Participants can have a direct dialogue with surveyors and have an understanding on the daily works and challenges faced in the surveying discipline.

Workshop theme: Workshop on land use planning

Workshop theme: Site visit to URA Project in Yue Man Square

Details: Students will visit URA Project in Yue Man Square under the guidance of general practice surveyors who will introduce the work involved by general practice surveyors in large property development projects and the benefits and changes brought to the local community by urban renewal projects.

Workshop theme: Walk-through from Planning to Development – Visits to City Gallery and Central Market

Details: Walking from City Gallery to Central Market, during which the PDD representative(s) would elaborate how Hong Kong’s town planning system and development controls affect or dictate the past, present and future of the urban developments and advancement of connectivity and walkability within the local community.

Property and Facility Management Division

Workshop theme: Air conditioner DIY Workshop and Sharing on Property and Facility Management

Venue: Surveyors Learning Centre (Sheung Wan)
Capacity: 25 (Max. 6 groups)
Details: Students will be working in groups to build their own air conditioner to understand more on the principle of cooling coil and air-conditioning system. Meanwhile, the scope of work of PFMD (e.g. Maintenance of building services, related statutory requirements) would be shared during the workshop.
